The NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence was visited by the NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Rob BAUER
On 9th of February the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (NATO ENSEC COE) was visited by the NATO Military Committee (NATO MILCOM) Chairman Admiral (ADM) Rob BAUER.
Together with the ADM Rob BAUER in to the NATO ENSEC COE arrived Colonel (COL) Michal PAWLAK, Senior Assistant to the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Ms. Eleonora RUSSELL, Public Affairs and Strategic Communications Advisor to the NATO Military Committee and the NATO International Military Staff and Brigade General Remigijus BALTRĖNAS, Lithuanian Military Representative to NATO and the European Union.
Centre’s director COL Darius Užkuraitis greeted the ADM Rob BAUER.
At the start of the meeting COL Darius Užkuraitis presented the organization, its mission and challenges.
During the meeting LTC Videt Norng, the Head of Education, Training and Exercise Division, overviewed executed “Coherent Resilience 20 - Ukraine” and “Coherent Resilience 21 - Baltics” exercises in 2021 and planned exercises for 2022 “Coherent Resilience 22 - Georgia” and “Coherent Resilience 22 – Central European Pipeline System”. Additionally LTC Videt Norng presented the Energy Security Discipline.
At the end of the meeting the NATO ENSEC COE director discussed with the ADM Rob BAUER about the Energy Security Discipline perspectives.
The NATO ENSEC COE was established on 10th of July and accredited on 12th of October, 2012. Currently it operates as a widely recognized international military organization with the aim of providing qualified and appropriate experts advices on questions related to operational energy security.
The mission of the NATO ENSEC COE is to assist Strategic Commands, other NATO bodies, nations, partners, and other civil and military entities by supporting NATO’s capability development process, mission effectiveness, and interoperability in the near, mid and long terms by providing comprehensive and timely subject matter expertise on all aspects of energy security. The mission includes cost effective solutions to support military requirements, energy efficiency in the operational field, and interaction with academia and industry.
