Voluntary National Contribution arrangement signed

On February 3, 2015 arrangement concerning the Voluntary National Contribution between the Office for Foreign Relations and Information of the Czech Republic and the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence was signed.

The Ceremony started with the welcome speech made by Director of the NATO ENSEC COE Col. Gintaras BAGDONAS and followed by the speeches made by Steering Committee Chairman Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mr. Andrius KRIVAS and the Deputy Director-General of the Office for Foreign Relations and Information of the Czech Republic Mr. Jan PAĎOUREK.

According to the signed arrangement, the Office for Foreign Relations and Information of the Czech Republic is supporting the activities of the NATO ENSEC COE by providing a subject matter expert to the Strategic Analysis and Research Division. He will start to work at the NATO ENSEC COE from the 2nd of March, 2015.

The NATO ENSEC COE was established on July 10, 2012. The status of international military organization granted and activated by The North Atlantic Council on 12 October 2012.

The ENSECCOE was officially inaugurated by NATO Secretary General and the Lithuanian President of Republic of Lithuania on the 6th September 2013.

Lithuania is the framework nation and Estonia, Italy, France, Latvia, Turkey and United Kingdom are the sponsoring nations; Georgia is the contributing partner nation of the NATO ENSEC COE.

By the end of 2015 is expected that U.S.A. will complete the joining process to the NATO ENSEC COE as Sponsoring nation.
