The first day of IESMA 2018 held by NATO ENSEC COE attracted more than 450 participants
The first day of IESMA 2018 held by NATO ENSEC COE on 14th November in LITEXPO, Vilnius, gathered more than 450 participants from Europe and other world continents. The exhibition hall was barely able to fit nearly 30 companies specialising in energy efficiency and energy innovation solutions.
The event started with opening of the conference part. Initial speeches were made by guests: Mr. Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania; Mr. Vytautas Umbrasas, Vice-Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania; Mr. Darius Skusevičius, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania; Dr. Antonio Missiroli, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges; H. E. Khatuna Salukvadze, Ambassador of Georgia to Lithuania. The guests were welcomed by the Director of the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence COL Romualdas Petkevičius.
The second part of the day proceeded with presentations done by: AIRCDRE Ralph Reefman, Assistant Chief of Staff Defence Palnning HQ SACT; Mr. Lucian Niemeyer, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy, Installations and Environment; Ms. Teodora Von Honenstaufen Noll, Virginia Economic Development Partnership, and many other high ranking officials and experts of energy efficiency and solutions. All speakers enriched the knowledge about how to apply innovative energy solutions for military and encouraged to seek for more in the future.
The breaks between speeches and presentations were dedicated for tours to exhibition area. All exhibiting companies received a perfect opportunity for business networking and presenting of their energy solutions for military applications.
