On the 2nd of October the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence was visited by a delegation of students from Junge Union Northern-Wuerttemberg (Germany) accompanied by Defense Attache of Federal Republic of Germany Lieutenant Colonel Thorsten Friedrich Fries. They were met by the Deputy Director of the Centre Colonel Jean-Marc Bouillet, who spoke of the field of expertise of the CoE and the necessity of such a topic of discussion.

The delegation came as part of a tour through the Baltic States, and their visit to the CoE was to gain an understanding of energy efficiency and energy security from NATO and Baltic region perspectives. Furthermore, the presentation stressed both military and civilian activities so that the accumulated knowledge could help as a tool in broader German and EU policymaking.
