NATO ENSEC COE subject matter expert delivered a presentation at the NATO Roundtable on Energy Security

On the 15th of December, the representative from the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence Mr. Lukas TRAKIMAVIČIUS, Subject Matter Expert of the Research and Lessons Learned Division, participated in the Virtual NATO Roundtable on Energy Security. His presentation focused on NATO’s Eastern Flank countries, current electrification trends and future security challenges.

Other panellists included representatives from NATO HQ, DG ENER, IEA, IRENA, other international institutions, government bodies and the academia.

The main topics discussed were the specifics of energy security challenges to NATO’s East and NATO’s South. The impact of COVID-19 on energy producers, energy transit issues, Europe’s energy transition and the military’s adaptation to the changing energy environment were debated as well.
