NATO ENSEC COE further conducts a Cyber Risk Study of Central Europe Pipeline System
NATO Energy Security Centres of Excellence Subject Matter Expert Mr. Vytautas Butrimas visited the French segment of the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System as part of a cyber risk study. Mr. Butrimas met with representatives of French Ministry of Defence and pipeline operator Trapil. All meeting participants engaged in a discussion how to improve safety, availability and resilience of pipeline operations in the context of today’s threats emanating from cyberspace.
Mr. Butrimas began his second of four planned visits to operators by making a presentation about the current cyber threat environment and introduced the cyber risk study goals and project timeline. The visit went on to tour central dispatch and control centers, pumping stations, access pits and storage depots.
