NATO ENSEC COE delivered a lecture at George Washington University
On the 11th of December, the Director of the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence Colonel Gintaras Bagdonas has delivered a lecture on the importance of energy security and critical energy infrastructure protection (CEIP), to the students of the Eliott School of International Affairs of George Washington University.
The Director introduced and outlined the notion of energy security and CEIP, paying special attention on the role of NATO as an overarching structure in this issue - the benefits of coordinating the defence of the borderless civilian and military infrastructure as a one whole. The lecture was also focused on the global and geopolitical implications of CEIP and the issues of conventional and non-conventional threats to it. In the end the students were briefly acquainted with Centre's current projects and what was accomplished during recent years.
