Higher Command and Staff Course students from Baltic Defense College visited the NATO ENSEC COE

On the 5th of June a group of 21 Higher Command and Staff Course students from Baltic Defense College visited the NATO ENSEC COE.

The guests from different NATO states and 3 representatives from Baltic Defense College (BALTDEFCOL) arrived to Vilnius in order to gain deeper knowledge about the Baltic region’s politics towards energy security. Therefore, the BALTDEFCOL delegation expressed willingness to visit the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence.

The Director of the NATO ENSEC COE, Colonel Romualdas PETKEVIČIUS, presented the mission of the Centre and its’ contribution to NATO, Allies and Partner Nations energy security. He introduced the main projects and studies of the COE. Some of which have been carried out by the Centre itself or in cooperation with various NATO headquarters and partners from military, governmental, academic and private sectors. The guests were also introduced with currently ongoing research activities and invited to participate in the future events hosted by the Centre. The Director put emphasis on the upcoming NATO ENSEC COE flagship event international conference and exhibition IESMA 2020 which is planned to take place in Ingolstadt next year.

In the end of the meeting Colonel Albertas DAPKUS, the Director of Senior Leader’s Course and Higher Command Studies Course at the Baltic Defense College, and Colonel Romualdas PETKEVIČIUS, Director of the NATO ENSEC COE, exchanged their representative institution’s coins as a symbol of mutual cooperation.
