High ranking U.S. officials visit to the NATO ENSEC COE

On January 28th, Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics of the United States Alan F. Estevez and his delegation of High Ranking military logistics officers visited the NATO Eneregy Security Centre of Excellence.

During the meeting, the Director of the NATO ENSEC COE Col Gintaras Bagdonas and Deputy Director LTC Nicolas Henry presented the Centre, its main activities and the main projects. 

The guests were interested in Centre‘s cooperation with Eastern Partnership countries Ukraine and Georgia and mutual projects. Centre‘s recent study „Production capacities and civilian storage capacities of F – 34, F – 44, F – 76 in Europe“ prepared for the NATO Petroleum Committee has promoted disscussions on how closures of European refineries could threaten the production of specific military fuels. The delegation was enquiring about Centre‘s partnership with other COE‘s situated in Baltic region and joint efforts of the COE‘s community in various fields of expertise.

The United States of America is the NATO ally that is in the joining process to the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence. After the joining, the U. S. A. will become one of the Sponsoring Nations of the Centre contributing to the budget and providing an expert in the capacity of the Head of Training and Exercise Division.
