High ranking Georgian delegation visit to the NATO ENSEC COE

On the 8th of February the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence has welcomed a delegation from Georgia, headed by Maj. Gen. Vladimer Chachibaia, the Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces and H. E. Mrs. Khatuna Salukvadze, the Georgian Ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania. They were met by Col. Gintaras Bagdonas, the Director of NATO ENSEC COE and a team of representatives and heads of the divisions of the Centre.

The guests were informed of the main areas of expertise and functions of the Centre, and were briefed on the activities and projects that the COE has been involved in. They were especially interested in the intricacies of Energy Security of the European region and their underlying strategic implications. Also striving to avoid past challenges, the delegation was particularly curious about various innovations and models that deal with the security of supply and Critical Energy Infrastructure Protection.

Moreover, in light of broadening cooperation between Europe and Georgia in the energy sector, they were interested in the complexities of the European energy network - its capabilities and limitations.

At the end of the meeting the Guests signed the Guest Book and took a family photo to commemorate the occasion.
