First enlargement of the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence
On October 16, 2014 the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence will be celebrating the first enlagemet - Georgia`s joining to the Centre as Contributing Partner Nation.
The arrangement will be signed by Lithuanian Defence minister Mr. Juozas Olekas, Georgian Economic and sustainable development minister Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, other representatives of the NATO ENSEC COE member counties- ambassadors, defence attaches.
Subject matter expert from Georgia will be assigned to the Doctrine and Concept Development Division.
NATO ENSEC COE was established on July 10, 2012. The status of international military organization granted and activated by The North Atlantic Council on 12 October 2012;
The ENSECCOE was officially inaugurated by NATO Secretary General and the Lithuanian President of Republic of Lithuania on the 6th September 2013;
Lithuania is the framework nation and Estonia, Italy, France, Latvia, Turkey are the sponsoring nations;
By the end of 2014 is expected the that UK will complete the joining process to the NATO ENSEC COE as Sponsoring nation.
