Exchange of views

On October 9, 2013, NATO ENSEC COE received the visit of a delegation from the Joint Advisory and Training Team (JATT) of the Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Centre (JAALC). The purpose of their presence in Lithuania was to support the first regional Lesson Learned course organized by the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

LTC Nerijus Stankevicius, MAJ Gernot Schrottner and Senior Analyst Andrew Eden from the JATT were joined by LTC Stasys Paldunas, Chief of Lessons Learned branch of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. NATO ENSEC COE was represented by Head of Doctrine and Concept Development Division LTC Luca Dottarelli, SME’s LTC Gintaras Smaliukas, MAJ Remigijus Zilinskas and Mrs. Rasa Pažarauskienė.

The purpose of the visit of the JAALC delegation to NATO ENSEC COE was to exchange views on the roles and functions as well as missions and projects of their respective organization. The meeting intended to lay down the basis to enhance their cooperation considering the NATO ENSEC COE’s new coordinating role as Department Head in the field of Education & Training in relation with Energy Security matters.

It was clearly stated that NATO ENSEC COE will follow NATO Lesson Learned Process by attending annual Lesson Learned conference. Moreover, NATO ENSEC COE will contribute to NATO and COE’s Lesson Learned Community of Interest by assigning Lesson Learned Point of Contact and Officer with Primary Responsibility within the Centre. Therefore, NATO ENSEC COE will be able to support analysis projects and share its knowledge in the field of Energy Security through NATO Lesson Learned Portal.
