Energy Security Program was successfully accomplished in Georgia
The first Energy Security Course with a regional focus was completed on 15 of April in Tbilisi, Georgia. The course was developed and coordinated by the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence and Naval Postgraduate School in Monterrey in support of Georgia’s military scientific technical center DELTA.
The lecturers from different international institutions such as NATO ESCD, Caspian Strategic Institute (HASAN), LTU Ministry of Defence and others explained energy interests and developments in regional and global context, current threats to energy supply and infrastructure. It is worth mentioning that NATO’s role in energy security and the importance of interagency cooperation in so called ,,GOLDEN TRIANGLE ( military, academia and industry) framework was specifically stressed.
The graduate students were form Georgian governmental agencies and institutions such as Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Environmental agency and others. The energy program received positive comments from the participants and will be a continues event in the future. Moreover, this course is considered to be open for other regional nations as well.
