Defence Attaché accredited to BENELUX and MILREP to NATO visited NATO ENSEC COE

On the 1st of April, the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence was visited by Israel’s Defence Attaché accredited to BENELUX and MILREP to NATO, Colonel Nir OMER. He was accompanied by Major Tal MENASHE, Head of Northern Europe Desk of Israel Defense Forces. Israels delegation was welcomed by the NATO ENSEC COE Director Colonel Romualdas PETKEVIČIUS. The guests were introduced to the Centre’s structure, mission and ongoing main projects and activities.

Afterwards, participants of the meeting discussed the importance of assuring cyber security and protection of critical energy infrastructure. This is an issue important to Israel as well as to NATO and partner nations, as energy security is one of the NATO main focus pillars. Both sides agreed that, in order to reach highest security standards, there is a need to cooperate, exchange knowledge and experience. NATO ENSEC COE and Israel representatives agreed to participate in an exchange of Subject Matter Experts in the future.

NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence is glad to be part of an ongoing cooperation and partnership with Israel and believes that sharing expert knowledge between institutions is the key for widening and deepening the field of expertise and knowledge.
