COE Directors conference

The 2013 COE Directors Conference was held on 24-26 September, 2013, at the Naval Mine Warfare COE in Ostend, Belgium. NATO ENSEC COE was represented by Director COL Romualdas PETKEVICIUS and Deputy Director LT COL Nicolas HENRY.

The Conference focused on the challenges the Centres are facing in communicating relevance of their establishments to NATO strategic-level customers and Sponsoring Nations (SN). One day of the Conference was dedicated to a visit to NATO HQ providing the COEs‘ directors with an opportunity to present the value they can contribute to NATO in their domain of competence. Their message was  received positively by higher-level authorities at NATO HQ.

The event also provided an opportunity to meet and share views with the directors or representatives of the 22 COEs. Directors held discussions on the Best Practices developed by their COEs regarding work with SN, expantion of SN base, and prevention of donor fatigue when addressing the challenges regarding the SN.
