A delegation from the German Federal Ministry of Defence visited the NATO ENSEC COE on the 12th of July

A delegation from the German Federal Ministry of Defence, the Directorate-General for Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services, consisting of Subject Matter Expert (SME) Mr. Huemer, legal advisor Mrs. Mehlhorn and Mr. Zipp from the Camp Services visited the NATO ENSEC COE on the 12th of July. The objective of this visit was to introduce the main activities of the Centre to the guests as a part of a continuing cooperation between the NATO NESEC COE and Germany.

In the beginning of the meeting, LTC Andrea MANFREDINI, the head of the Doctrine and Concept Division, gave a briefing on the Centre’s history, mission and principal activities, he also presented the flagship events hosted by the Centre and event hosted in cooperation with partners. Later on, each of the participating division representatives, namely, MAJ Scott SERKIN, the head of the Education Training and Exercise Division, LTC Andrea MANFREDINI, the head of the Doctrine and Concept Division, Ms Julia VAINIO, representing the Strategic Analysis Division and Dr. Reiner ZIMMERMANN, the head of the Research and Lessons Learned Division, talked the guests through their divisions’ activities and implemented projects. Moreover, Ms Jennifer DORAN, from the Doctrine and Concept Division, presented highlights of the Energy Management in a Military Expeditionary Environment (ENMEE) Project in west Africa.

The guests showed a particular interest in questions such as the NATO ENSEC COE’s cooperation with the NATO Standardization Office (NSO), also the Centre’s contribution to the environmental protection in the military.

At the end of the meeting, the guests were thankful for the opportunity to get a closer look to the NATO ENSEC COE mission. Both sides exchanged final remarks and expressed willingness to continue to reinforce the link between Germany and the NATO ENSEC COE.
