1st NATO ENSEC COE STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING CONCLUDED IN VILNIUS
The Steering Committee of the newly-established NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (NATO ENSEC COE) met on 18 July 2012 in Vilnius. National representatives from Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, and Turkey participated as voting members and national representatives from France, the United States and the United Kingdom acted as observers.
During the meeting, the NATO ENSEC COE Concept, Programme of Work and other documents regulating the activities of the Centre were approved. The Steering Committee also approved the NATO ENSEC COE logo.
The NATO ENSEC COE, established on 10 July 2012 will continue the work being carried out by the currently operational Energy Security Centre under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. The transition will be complete after the North Atlantic Council grants the NATO ENSEC COE the status of an International Military Organisation, which is expected to happen later this year.
