Representatives of the NATO ENSEC COE participated in the third Annual Discipline Conference (ADC) hosted by the Centre of Excellence Defence Against Terrorism (COE-DAT) in Ankara on 21-22 June 2018. The event was executed under the guidance of Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation / Joint Force Trainer (HQ SACT/JFT), who participated and oversaw the event.
This conference provided an opportunity for synchronisation, synergy and co-ordination amongst the stakeholders in the Counter Terrorism discipline and Members of the Counter Terrorism community of interest. Furthermore it addressed cross-disciplinary E&T requirements and allowed for a comprehensive overview of the challenges that the discipline is dealing with. The event also provided an update on the developments of the Counter Terrorism discipline since the previous ADC as well as an update of the training requirements and a review of the training opportunities available. The main topics of interest for the NATO ENSEC COE were risk and countermeasures related to Critical Energy Infrastructure Protection as well as security and vulnerabilities of supply chains.
