Joint Ukrainian, Georgian and Moldovan Parliamentary delegation visited the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence

On the 26th of April 2018, a joint Ukrainian, Georgian and Moldovan Parliamentary delegation visited the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence as a part of the 4 days visit to the Republic of Lithuania. The Centre's Director Colonel Gintaras Bagdonas welcomed them with Ms. Julia Vainio, the Subject Matter Expert of the Strategic Analysis and Research Division, and Mr. Otar Mosiashvili, the Subject Matter Expert of the Doctrine and Concept Development Division.

The guests were briefed on the main aims of the Centre, as well as the activity field and future development plans. The delegation was especially interested in the Centre's successfully implemented projects, such as the Deployable Modular Hybrid Power Generation and Management System (HPGS). The discussed system utilizes both renewable energy sources and conventional fuel generators with energy stores and management solutions that enable more effective energy supply in military camps.

The delegation was thankful for the overview given by the Centre's Director on the regional energy security and potential threats. In return, the Director encouraged further cooperation between NATO ENSEC COE and NATO partners to raise awareness of critical energy infrastructure protection.
