Hight ranking delegation from Committee For Defence, Public Order and National Security of Romania visited NATO ENSEC COE

On the 17th of September - The NATO ENSEC COE welcomed delegation from Committee For Defence, Public Order and National Security of Romania, led by Chairman of National Security and Defence Committee (NSDC) Vytautas Bakas and HE Dan Adrian Bălănescu, Ambassador of Romania. The Meeting in ENSEC COE was part of the larger program of the Romanian delegation’s visit to Lithuania.

They were received by Colonel Romualdas Petkevičius, the Director of NATO ENSEC COE and the Heads of the Research, Lessons Learned, and Doctrine and Concept Development divisions. Following a brief presentation of the projects and competencies, the guests were keen to discuss the potential security implication of Nord Stream 2, cyber security in relation to energy domain and protection of physical energy infrastructure. In particular the Chairman of National Security and Defence Committee (NSDC) Vytautas Bakas outlined Romanian interest in strategic research of CEI and regional energy security concerns.

The visit commenced with the NATO ENSEC COE official invitation of Romania to join the Center and formal invitation of Romanian business and private entities to join the flagship event “Innovative Energy Solution in Military Applications” (IESMA 2018).
