High ranking delegation from the Embassy of United States of America in Vilnius visited the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence

On 3^rd of September, the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (NATO ENSEC COE) was visited by the delegation from the Embassy of United States of America (USA) in Vilnius. The USA Ambassador to Lithuania Mr. Robert S. Gilchrist was welcomed by Centre’s deputy Director Lieutenant colonel (LTC) Christophe Nave and the representative of USA to the NATO ENSEC COE LTC Videt Norng.

During the meeting the NATO ENSEC COE deputy Director introduced Centre’s structure and heads of the divisions presented their activities and projects. The USA Ambassador to Lithuania Mr. Robert S. Gilchrist was interested in Centre’s activity and promised to visit it in the future.

At the end of the meeting the guests from the Embassy of USA in Vilnius congratulated the Centre on its active work and achievements. The NATO ENSEC COE expressed its gratitude to the USA for its continuous support and partnership.

The NATO ENSEC COE was establised on 10^th of July and accredited on 12^th of October, 2012. Currently it operates as a widely recognized international military organization with the aim of providing qualified and appropriate experts advices on questions related to operational energy security.

The mission of the NATO ENSEC COE is to assist Strategic Commands, other NATO bodies, nations, partners, and other civil and military entities by supporting NATO’s capability development process, mission effectiveness, and interoperability in the near, mid and long terms by providing comprehensive and timely subject matter expertise on all aspects of energy security. The mission includes cost effective solutions to support military requirements, energy efficiency in the operational field, and interaction with academia and industry.
