Cybersecurity Expert from the NATO ENSEC COE delivered a lecture in George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies
NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence Subject Matter Expert of Research and Lessons Learned Division Mr. Vytautas BUTRIMAS was invited as a guest speaker to the George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
SME Vytautas Butrimas delivered a lecture on “The Cybersecurity Dimension of Critical [X] Infrastructure” to a group of over 100 participants representing over 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and island nations of the Pacific region. Later on Mr. BUTRIMAS served as a guest SME in several smaller satellite discussion groups analysing the topics covered in the course where participants shared their national experience. In addition he participated as visiting guest speaker at several “Night owl sessions” at the end of the day’s program which further covered the main topics in more depth.
The Marshall Center has developed a comprehensive program to explore the increasing domestic, international and transnational challenges in cyber security. The program helps participants appreciate the nature and magnitude of today's threats and develops a common understanding of the lexicon, best practices, and current cyber initiatives within the public and private sectors. The program is taught by world leaders in cyber security and allows participants to network and establish contacts with other cyber-focused professionals.
